This blog is all about my life. my husband. my kids-Gabby and Nicco. my work. happy moments. heartaches. friends. thoughts that wants to pop out my mind will be express here!
For the big school that is! As of this very moment, the little girl is taking her entrance examination for grade 1 at St. Therese Educational Private School, just a stone's throw away from our house which is the main reason we chose it despite the high tuition fee, many have attesting to the good curriculum and way of teaching there. We noticed the good facilities of the school too as we went there to inquire. The husband is more than excited than the little girl as he is the one who process the requirements and other pertinent documents needed and since I cannot take a leave from work, he is the one with the little girl right now. Nicco on the other hand is already enrolled in Nursery since last year from her Ate's previous school. He is also excited in going to school, he even tells us that that the teacher" allowed him to bring his toys to school. Oh my! he's used to having his toys with him around that's why. But he'll enjoy school for sure :)
Aside from the oatmeal that they never get tired of eating everyday is this multi-colored fruity loops cereals. And off they go to another day filled with lots or hyper activities to keep them busy.
This year 2010, Gabby will be turning 6 and Nicco 4 cliche as it may sound but time really flies really fast! seems like yesterday when they were just too fragile in my arms... Now they are growing up too fast. I wish that they would always be in the best of health and good luck to me as I will be having two students this coming school year. yep, Nicco will be in his nursery by June and Gabby will be in Grade 1! We are still in search of school for Gabby, the ones we saw near the area are kinda pricey. Save, save is the key! As for Nicco, he'll be going to her Ate's school and we have already made the DP for his tuition so expenses won't pile up high.

And we will be welcoming the 2010! another year, another new experiences for us to share . Last December 24, we went to DH's Aunt to greet them a merry Christmas and ate dinner that Lola Fely prepared and feasted on macaroni and fruit salad, kids got some cash gifts after from Tito Meo and Tito Jimmy . We saw this very nice house at Masambong Q.C
how was your Christmas? ours was spent with my family in Sampaloc, went there as early as 9 am and we waited for our Santa Claus Kuya to arrive. He arrived a minutes later and gave this to kids. Cash Gifts are to given to the young at hearts and everybody was at their happiest. feasted on foods that my mom had cooked and the boys drank some beers. Kids are usually at their hyper mood, playing with their gifts, toy guns and RC cars. Gabby on the other hand shared with Nicco's rc car.
Just couldn't help but feel a bit emotional looking at my kids and see how far how they have become from being so fragile from my arms few years back. They are now starting to build and become more independent as days passed by. Gabby is now doing great as far as her studies is concerned, She can now read well and do her assignments with minimal supervision from me unlike before where I almost loose my temper teaching her. lol. Now, I will ask her to read the instructions and explain further what to do and she'll happily do all the works by here own. Nicco on the other hand, haven't given signs of him being ready for the school next year. He still wants to play around and is developing the habit of hitting her Ate Gabby and sometimes his Dad and I whenever he is annoyed and I don't want him to get used to it. We are trying ways on how we could avoid or let him not do that and it really stresses me. Raising kids is definitely not easy, but getting hugs and kisses from them eases the tired and stress from an all day work.

I am one guilty parent. There are times that I would loose my temper and yell at Gabby and Nicco, especially when I am really tired from work. At nights when I would put them to sleep and they wouldn't want to and they still wanted to play and I on the other hand really wanted to get some rest and call it a night. Very bad mommy behavior I know! My kids being in the age of exploring, Gabby is 5 years old and Nicco is 3, they would really try to get our attention. But they don't really deserve such kind of response from me, I know being tired, etc is not an excuse to yell. And I am really trying my very best to show them how much I love and care for them.
Some families are loud. It is a pattern in the family to speak loudly or shout and children who are brought up in this atmosphere get used to the noise and are not likely to be harmed by it (unless the yelling is putdowns, or scary).
Sometimes children from these families have trouble at school because they have not learned to respond to directions when they are given more softly.
If parents shout at children when they are angry the child can feel the parents' anger and it can make children fearful.
If parents shout at each other, young children may not understand that they are safe and it can be terrifying, especially if one of the parents leaves or gets upset so the children no longer feel safe in the care of the people they trust to look after them.
If parents often criticise each other in front of the child it can endanger the child's security and damage their confidence in themselves - because each parent is part of them as well.
If a family is always used to shouting and competing for 'air-space' the children may not learn to be good listeners and to allow others a chance to talk.
Getting in First
Shouting can be the result of not being able to set a limit early enough before the child has crossed the line where you can't put up with it anymore.
It is important to be able to recognize when you need to stop what is happening before you get to this line.
As soon as you feel that this is happening you need to stop whatever you are doing and the children are doing, and do something that will help change the pace eg:
Let children know often that you love them and that you like them and you are proud of them, to make up for the occasional times when you may say damaging things.
Let children know that mistakes are important because they are a way of learning.
Encourage children to try.
Let children know that you value their help.
If you are naturally loud and yell a lot explain to your children that that is the way you talk and you are not angry with them.
If you are angry with your partner try to sort it out away from the children.
If you are angry with the children take a few minutes or as long as you need before you tell them - have cup of coffee, play some music, go for a walk or whatever helps you to calm down.
If you do shout, try to make sure you do not say things that are harmful to children or put them down.
If you do shout a lot, your children are likely to shout too. They are copying you, not trying to "get at" you.
Talk about what you would like rather than blame or threaten - eg "I want you to help me pick up the toys". (See the topic 'Discipline - what is discipline?).
Listen to yourself - to what you say and to how you say it.
If things are getting on top of you and you are feeling angry a lot of the time, get some support, either from your partner or a good friend or a counselor.
Remember that what you do occasionally is not what harms children, it is what goes on most of the time. If most of the time your relationship is good, that is what will count.
of the little girl that is! was late posting this one as I kept on keeping this on my pending to do's. It's been almost three weeks, but its still worth a post so here it is! Oh well, little girl got her reward for this one. She just asked for the hello kitty collectibles from Mc Do and she was already one happy kid! Another reward she wanted was a kiddie value meal from Jollibee this time. She all got this from watching TV... She would take note of the commercials of these two.. Ahaha... Last night while DH was writing the lists of things to buy for our trip to the grocery later. She asked her Daddy to put the word TOYS in the list. LOL. DH of course happily obliged. She even checked and ask for the list if it was really written, we can't fool her as she can now read very well. Oh kids!
is a funny and innovative Nick Jr. show for preschoolers. Each episode follows the adventures of three classroom pets--Linny the Guinea Pig, Ming-Ming Duckling, and Turtle Tuck--who travel around the globe helping to rescue animals who need their help.
Like real preschoolers, these three unlikely heroes don't have any actual super powers, but by working together they can conquer any obstacle: "What's gonna work? Teamwork!"
The show features photo-puppetry animation--an animation style created specifically for this series--which allows the animators to manipulate photos of real animals. The result is striking, memorable, and truly unique. Each episode is like a mini-opera with dialog often sung to an original score by some of Broadway's top composers. And each episode encourages teamwork, empathy, problem-solving skills, and an appreciation of music and humor.
Linny the Guinea Pig is the group’s leader. Linny is the brains of the outfit, a fearless guinea pig who will do anything to help a fellow creature in need. Linny represents the developmental age of a five-year-old, making Linny the oldest of the Wonder Pets. Linny’s favorite food is celery.
Ming-Ming Duckling is outgoing and confident. She has recently learned to fly, and she loves flying more than anything, even though she can only get about 4 or 5 feet off the ground. Ming-Ming enjoys being the center of attention. She can sometimes be overzealous, and often gets ahead of herself. Ming-Ming represents the developmental age of a three-year-old.
Turtle Tuck is a very sensitive young turtle. Tuck is the heart of the group, and he has a deep emotional connection to all living things. Tuck loves to give (and get) hugs. Developmentally, Tuck is a four-year-old. He is the least physically adroit of the Wonder Pets. He is, however, an excellent swimmer.
Hubby will be a attending a christening this weekend, he will be one of the Godparents of the child. I need to buy baby gifts later this afternoon. But DH forgot to tell me the gender of the baby. OH well, there's no problem with it since I found babynest.com and saw lots of baby gifts that are for unisex. They even offer some discounts since some items are on sale. You could even received some offers when you sign up. I really find these cutie and will definitely suit whatever the gender of the baby is.
Oh how I miss having a baby :) My kids are fast growing and are really very loud and active. I saw some items that are really lovely and will definitely buy those for my kiddos.

We attended last April 26. My Nephew's 4th birthday celebration, He is one day ahead of Gabby's bday which is April 27. Kids did enjoy and swim again on an inflatable pool that his papa set up.
The day after Gabby's graduation. Got a text message from my niece Lalen, asking if when are we going to set up our inflatable pool as they wanted to come over and have some sort of a swimming party. Ian immediately set it up the next day, and as expected kids are so excited and patiently waited for about 3 hours to fill this inflatable pool.
Here comes the fire preventive month which also signals that summer is finally here. Gabby's final and fourth quarter exam will start tomorrow till Thursday, come Friday will gonna be their TOGA pictorial. March 20 will be the culminating day. I am happy to see that Gabby have improved a lot in terms of her comprehensive ability, she could also clearly write her name.
On the other hand, Nicco's development is also noticeable now that he's 2 years and 10 mos. he could talk clearly and not that"bulol" anymore. We are so proud that we were able to raise 2 beautiful and charming kids. Though you could imagine how hard it is to raise a pre-school and toddler at the same time. Sometimes, things gets out on hand that there are some incidents that I could not contol my temper. Screaming at the top of my voice whenever these two kids show episodes of tantrums, fighting over a piece of toy, food, pencil, crayons, cup of water, pillow and even on catching our attentions. But I can say that it's all worth it whenever we see accomplishments they make. Kids wouldn't be kids if they are not like that, right?!

Gabby loves to munch on this, "Piso ang isa sa tindahan, chichirya."and sometimes, munches on Boy bawang. ahehe
Caught Gabby drinking Coffee. she always does it. she would always check on those cups left on the dining table and will say "inubos ko na yung coffee. ang sarap!"
Nicco, can't wait till we reach the counter and pay for the grocery items.
And when caught, he would open up his mouth and say, "no more! aaahh"
No, they don't have the ADHD disorder! they are just somewhat like any ordinary children who were so physically active. Gabby just recently turned 4 last April 27 and will be in kinder 1 this coming school year. While Nicco is turning 2 this coming May 24 needless to say about the "terrible 2" stages that toddlers are going through.
Just imagine how noisy these kids whenever they play, most especially whenever they take a bath at the same time. As if there was a war going on inside the bathroom and that includes me, couldn't help but yell for I couldn't hear myself as they keep on shouting at each other. Scattered toys all over the room and not to mention those tantrums thrown...But then, no matter how tired we were from work for as long as we see them both happy and healthy. We couldn't ask for more and thank God for bringing them into our life.
