Bathroom Makeover

We just finished doing the kitchen makeover months ago and I could really say that I'm quite satisfied with the result. We can now freely move around on our very own kitchen. We are now set on the next plan on makeover which is the bathroom. We will be having our very own bathroom too in a few months time, it means that only our family DH, I and the kids could only use the bathroom, we are still first trying to fix around the line of the septic tank. It has been realigned due to some leaking problem. I am very excited as I look around for some Cheap Baths idea that we'd like to incorporate for our new bathroom. As we all know that it is a place where we could find time for ourselves, comfort is definitely the number one priority. There are few nice ideas that I saw at betterbathrooms.com, they are even on sale on different items that you could use in beautifying your bathroom. I specifically wanted their shower enclosure. Very classy looking and saves a lot of time in cleaning the bathroom for the water wouldn't be splashing everywhere while taking a shower.

90 x 90 x 185cm
Single Sliding Door
6mm toughened safety glass
Aluminium profiles with chrome finish
20mm adjustment tolerance for uneven walls (-15mm/+5mm)
Manufacturer's Lifetime Guarantee
Shower tray included
Shower system NOT included.

I am now officially on my holiday mode. lol! Yesterday was my last day of work, glad that the bosses' told that we'll go back to work on January 4. So we'll gonna have a straight 13 days vacation... Our very much awaited vacation! The past week was a very busy one for me.

  • December 18-was Gabby's Christmas party, we tagged along the little boy and he did enjoy watching her big sister as she leads the prayer for children's petition and a dance number to the tune of Nobody by Wonder Girls. Box of goodies and gifts arrived straight from Australia, kids were giddy happy seeing and unwrapping their gifts. They got this:
  • December 19-Woke up very early to laundry our clothes and finished some online tasks since I'll be attending our Company's first ever Christmas party in the evening. I was assigned to prepare Chicken macaroni salad, I asked DH to do it since I don't know to make one. poor me! I was able to bring home some goodies and won an Asahi rice cooker in the raffle draw.
  • December 20- went to Shangrila and SM Megamall, went there as early as 10 a.m and went home around 5 p.m. yup, we stayed almost the entire day walking ang shopping around. Kids were really tired that the little boy get cranky and fell asleep as we were about to go home.
bought this one for our desktop, it was really very nice as it makes the table clutter free from wires and cables.

They ran around this nice toy soldier underneath the giant Christmas tree in Shangrila

And this one at the booth of humor post, they asked me to take a snap here: their smile here is really priceless!

  • December 21 and 22- still got to work om this date, but glad that our office hours is from 10-6 and Gabby and I went to my parents place in the morning and left her because she will be going w/ my sister's husband to their office to get some Christmas gifts from his boss, I picked her up yesterday after office hours.
And today, I'm off to empty the laundry basket and had a general cleaning of our room and will try to finish some pending online tasks later..

Christmas Gift

The little boy is quite overwhelmed with the toys that he saw when we went to SM Megamall's Toy Kingdom last Tuesday. You could really see delight on the kids faces. They don't want to go out of the store anymore when we were about to leave. Nicco was bugging me to buy him a toy gun and put up this Hunting pellet guns look alike toy without my knowledge on our shopping cart. He even tricked me by putting it up under those other items we bought. I only noticed it while I was browsing the receipt at home. He was all smile when I confronted him. Oh well, what can I do?! He's very much enjoying his new toy.

The Prayer

Heavenly Father, keep our families together in love, in peace and in joy.

Let our parents, be patient with us. Let our parents, be patient with each other , aware that the success and happiness of each member of the family depend on their loving concern for all of us.

Let no thought of separation or divorce be a part of solution to any problem.

Give them the grace Lord to pray together as the family that prays together stays together.

Amen.

This is the prayer that Gabby willbe leading in the opening of the program. I even memorized it too. LOL. Was amazed at how fast she was able to memorized it. She was able to deliver it in no less than 30 mins. Kids really have keen memory. Noticed that the prayer is centered on the family, in line with the theme of NATIVITY.

The Cristmas Tree Test

We just all love the holidays and I love Christmas Tree!!! took up this test...

You Are Blissfully Content

During the holidays, you have a lot to be thankful for. And even if you are having a hard time, you do your best to express gratitude.

You are a glass half full type of person. You try to see life as a gift.

You believe that it's important to stay positive and peaceful. Not just for your own mental health, but for also for the mental health of those around you.

The gift of optimism is the best thing you could possibly give. And you give it well.

Medical Supplies

Seven days to go and it will gonna be the big day for almost everyone in the world. The most celebrated day of the year, Christmas! I have been continuously reminding DH to watch out his diet. Being a diabetic, he needs to guard himself from sweets, which of course is very in demand food during the holidays. I told him to keep himself off those goodies or he'll in up in hospital bed on holidays and I don't want to be seeking some medical supplies on wee hours if ever. Health is wealth as they always say and very true indeed, it is one great gift that we ever received from the good Lord. Priceless!

Getting An Online Degree

>> 12/10/2009

I remember how high spirited I am when I was still studying in high school, I always dream of becoming a good lawyer someday. My mom loves the idea too as my big brother is taking up law at that time. But as I entered my junior level in high school and our family encountered financial crisis then, I almost gave up and wanted to quit right there and then. I opted to stop schooling after I graduated from high school, but enrolled in college after a year. I helped my parents in our family business during that time. I am not a stand out student but I didn't gave my parents a headache the entire four year course I took. But I was not able to fulfill my dream of becoming a lawyer... But I am happy that I was able to finish a college degree, being a working mom now, there was still this longing for me to get in to school again. I wanted to pursue and get an UOP online degree this time. I think this will fit a very busy mom like me since I will be able to allot this one, proper time management is the answer. There is no age for education, for as long as you wanted to learn.

>> 12/09/2009

and it's Christmas! obviously...lol!

DH's bro-in-law have put already in our sala the CHRISTMAS VILLAGE, and the BELEN on our mini garden before the main door entrance. Oh well, I'm just not so in the holiday mood these past few days, it's maybe because we haven't receive our 13th mo. yet! ahaha. and the lists of my "To-Buy" is getting longer as days passed by... Hope the boss will give it altogether with our salary this coming Friday, or we have no choice but to wait till Friday next week. Even the plans of changing tiles for our kitchen was put off, we will just wait for extra available funds to process the renovation. As with the little girl, she was assigned to lead the opening prayer for their Christmas program and was given a paragraph of prayer to memorize. As of now, she was able to memorize two sentences already, hopefully she can deliver it easily on the 18th.

And as for her costume for the program, she will be needing:

  • Red Blouse
  • Skinny maong jeans
  • Santa hat
  • Rubber shoes
very easy to find right?! and most important, very affordable! ahaha. At first, I thought she will be portraying a role of an angel that's why. hehe... Still got no idea what to give the kids, since their wish (A laptop toy for Gabby and Robot for Nicco) were already granted by my SIL and now in transit. Kids don't know it yet... till the eve of the Christmas.

December 8: Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception

>> 12/08/2009

Prayer to the Immaculate Conception 1

O Virgin Immaculate, Mother of God and my Mother, from thy sublime height turn upon thine eyes of pity. Filled with confidence in thy goodness and knowing full well thy power, I beseech Thee to extend to me thine assistance in the journey of life, which is so full of dangers for my soul. And in order that I may never be the slave of the devil through sin, but may ever live with my heart humble and pure, I entrust myself wholly to thee. I consecrate my heart to thee forever, my only desire being to love thy Divine Son, Jesus. Mary, none of thy devout servants has ever perished; may I too be saved. Amen.

Prayer to the Immaculate Conception 2

O God, Who by the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin didst make ready a fitting habitation for Thy Son, we beseech Thee that Thou Who didst keep her clean from all stain by the precious death of the same Thy Son, foreseen by Thee, mayest grant unto us in like manner to be made clean through her intercession and so attain unto Thee. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

Can you feel the rush of the holiday season? I definitely do. With the many activities lined up for the holidays, I really need to make the most out of my time and should follow the my scheduled to do's for the holidays. Last Friday, I was able to shop for some Christmas presents to be given away to my family and friends. Next thing to buy is the costume that my daughter will wear for their Christmas program next week, I think the role that she'll be portraying is an angel so I need to look for a white dress and wings. My ultimate Christmas wish is to have a romantic cancun vacation. That will be a perfect and memorable gift to cherish all through out our holiday celebration, being away from the hustles and bustle of the city life, being relaxed and enjoying the perks of different packages that they offer.

Moving Again

>> 12/02/2009

We went last weekend to my parent's place to pay them a visit. Gabby and Nicco misses their cousin Dwayne so much that they didn't take their afternoon nap that day as they played all day long. We, the adults engage in a small talk and my mom brought up the topic of finding another house again. I was really surprise for I thought that everything's ok and that they are settled on their new home already. She told me that they have an issue with the owner of the apartment, it seems like the owner wants them out of their unit and have been told that they don't have to pay for the rental since they can use their deposit and down payment. Gee, just the mere thought of packing and unpacking things makes me want to feel crazy again. LOL. Moving is never really easy you know. But if only we have the services of Boston Moving Company here, moving will definitely an ease and smooth flowing for this company is well known for rendering an excellent job with moving services, they are equipped with the necessary high tech tools needed for a fast transaction and smooth transport of your most prized belongings to your new and humble abode, you don't have to feel stressful with your move for they will take care of everything, from the smallest to bigger details that makes you more confident of that move.

Home Schooling

>> 11/20/2009

Education is very important in our life. Learning is a continuous process even outside the school, it is considered as one most prized possession a person could ever had for it cannot be stolen from you. It will always reflect upon you on how you react at certain things. That's why I always told my brother who is loosing interest on his studies to hang on and be more patient with it for hew will reap the fruits of his labor in due time. He had stopped going to school but we're encouraging him to try homeschooling if he doesn't want to go to university schools anymore. I know the feeling since I have experienced quitting school back then due to stress , etc. But am glad I have overcome them all and faced the challenges of school life.

He had inquired on the homeschooling curriculum that he wants to get and I think that he will be more focus this time and won't feel tight stress this time for he could even attend for other activities like a part time job while doing the curriculum online. There are few good offers at the globalstudentnetwork.com wherein their mission to "provide alternative educational options, designed to improve the academic preparation, achievement and general well being of non-traditionally oriented elementary, middle and high school age students." definitely gives the out of school youth children to continue and pursue their studies for a brighter future ahead of them .

All Grown Up

Just couldn't help but feel a bit emotional looking at my kids and see how far how they have become from being so fragile from my arms few years back. They are now starting to build and become more independent as days passed by. Gabby is now doing great as far as her studies is concerned, She can now read well and do her assignments with minimal supervision from me unlike before where I almost loose my temper teaching her. lol. Now, I will ask her to read the instructions and explain further what to do and she'll happily do all the works by here own. Nicco on the other hand, haven't given signs of him being ready for the school next year. He still wants to play around and is developing the habit of hitting her Ate Gabby and sometimes his Dad and I whenever he is annoyed and I don't want him to get used to it. We are trying ways on how we could avoid or let him not do that and it really stresses me. Raising kids is definitely not easy, but getting hugs and kisses from them eases the tired and stress from an all day work.

Manic Monday #189

You have a brain tumor. Though there is no discomfort at the moment, this tumor would unquestionably kill you in six months. However, your life can (and will) be saved by an operation; the only downside is that there will be a brutal incision to your frontal lobe. After the surgery, you will be significantly less intelligent. You will still be a fully functioning adult, but you will be less logical, you will have a terrible memory, and you will have little ability to understand complex concepts or difficult ideas. The surgery is in two weeks.

How do you spend the next fourteen days?

~ Spend quality time with my family, savor each moment and put in writing all my requests regarding important matters and decisions.

Every person you have ever slept with is invited to a banquet where you are the guest of honor. No one will be in attendance except you, the collection of your former lovers, and the catering service. After the meal, you are asked to give a fifteen-minute speech to the assembly.

What do you talk about?

~ My life and lessons I've learned..

You have won a prize. The prize has two options, and you can choose either (but not both). The first option is a year in Europe with a monthly stipend of $2,000. The second option is ten minutes on the moon.

Which option do you select?

~a year in Europe with a monthly stipend of $2,000.
I could savor more experience with this one. 1o minutes in the moon is too short to enjoy being there, after all I think there's nothing much to see there I guess. hee

The holiday season is now fast approaching and being the procrastinator that I am, still haven't started on our plans yet for the said occasion, the lazy bug has strike on me once again and I kept on delaying things on my lists of to do's. The little girl will be having their Christmas party on the third week of December and she'll be part of a play in their Christmas program, exchange gift to follow which is my problem now, still got no idea on what to give on her "baby". Last year, I just bought an educational toy as a gift. But this time I want something different and would want to buy something not just for her classmates but for everyone that will gonna be on my lists, and that includes my family, friends and office mates. I saw very nice collections NFL Merchandise on the net while I was browsing where to find a one stop shop for all my needs for the gift giving session. there are wide variety of nice jerseys at nfluniformset.com that will surely fit the little girl's classmates and for my niece's as well. Their kids uniform football outfit is a complete set that comprises of jersey, pants and helmet and comes with a box that serves as a good gift idea for the holidays. The uniform also can be used as a pajama. Yup you heard it right! because of the quality materials used, it has a double purpose. Nice choice of gifts right?!
